Skin Health Maintenance
Oily skin can be identified with large pores across the entire face. Common symptoms of oily skin is appearing shiny and greasy to the point of being able to blot oil during the day with a tissue. Oily skin is the result of overactive Sebaceous activity in the follicle. This condition isn’t just limited to teens, oiliness can be triggered by genetics and hormone fluctuations making adults susceptible to excess oiliness and shine as well.
I recommend coming in for an initial consultation so I can analyze your skin type and rule out any contraindicating concerns like sensitivity. (A common occurrence is that many people will strip their skin with harsh ingredients and over-cleansing, causing sensitivity.)
Once established, I recommend getting a regular/basic facial at least once every three months for a professional exfoliation and deep hydrating treatment to help regulate sebum production.
The Skin Regimen that I recommend: Precleanse, Dermal Clay Cleanser, Daily Microfoliant, Multi-Active Toner, Oil Control Lotion, and Active Moist moisturizer. You don’t want to forget your sunscreen, so use Oil-Free matte to keep you looking fresh all day long.
Clients with normal skin have little to no imperfections and no pores are visible. Combination skin may be identified with slightly larger pores in the T-zone making daily maintenance a little more complex. The goal for both normal and combination skin is to maintain that radiant glow and sebum balance.
As with all new clients, treatment protocols starts with my Dermalogica Introductory 2-Hour Facial. This will give me an opportunity to learn more about your regimen, habits, health and goals. After that, quarterly maintenance includes gentle yet effective exfoliation, revitalizing facial massage, and deep nourishment to keep skin tissues healthy and bright.
The skin regimen I recommend: Precleanse, Special Cleansing Gel, Daily Microfoliant, Multi-Active Toner, Active Moist or Skin Smoothing cream (moisturizer depends on your specific needs) and Total Eye Care. Be sure to include SPF during the day with Solar Defense Booster. You can either mix it apply it over your moisturizer for daily protection.
Dry skin can feel tight and may be flaky. Usually it’s a genetic predisposition. Dry skin can also come from you geographical location, diet, and lifestyle (smoking, alcohol, caffeine, etc).
I recommend coming in for an initial consultation so I can analyze your skin type and rule out any contraindicating concerns like sensitivity. This occurs due to an imbalance with moisture (lipids/oils) and hydration (water). Sensitivity must be addressed prior to other skin concerns in order to achieve true skin health.
After your initial consultation, I will prescribe a follow-up treatment plan based on your skin health goals. This may include a series of Ultra-Calming Facials to address sensitivity. Once sensitivity is healed, regular quarterly maintenance is recommended.
The Skin Regimen that I recommend: Precleanse Balm, Essential Cleaning Solution, Gentle Cream Exfoliant, Multi-Active Toner or Hydrating/Soothing Toner, Skin Smoothing Cream or Intensive Moisture Balance.
